A 2025 BUSINESS NEW YEAR RESOLUTION

If you or your organization does not provide Outplacement Services as a benefit, The Center for Leadership Excellence recommends you make the following RESOLUTIONS and provide this valuable benefit to every individual you transition out of the organization this year.

What Are the Resolutions You Should be Making?
1. In 2025, Resolve to Provide Emotional Support to Individuals You Transition Out of The Organization

When an individual loses their job, it’s normal for them to feel hurt, angry, vulnerable, or even betrayed.  Beyond the loss of income, losing a job can mean a loss of professional identity, diminished self-confidence, and the loss of one’s social network as well as the end of a familiar daily routine. It’s a tumultuous experience not only for the individual who lost their job but also for family members. In 2025, we recommend you RESOLVE to include an outplacement benefit that provides the help of a professional career coach who has considerable experience assisting individuals to cope with the stress they and their families now face – who can assist the individual accept the situation and understand that something good can come out of it.

  1. In 2025, Resolve to Provide a Career Coach to Individuals You Transition Out of The Organization.

A professional, certified Career Coach will work with the individual until their job search is complete, no matter how long it takes or how difficult the search is. For an individual embarking on a job search independently, the process can be overwhelming. Without guidance, many job seekers struggle to explain why they lost their jobs and present their skills and experiences in a way that resonates with hiring managers.

In contrast, a professional career transition coach is adept at understanding the nuances of the job market and can provide invaluable insights into how to position oneself effectively. With their support, job seekers are often able to shorten their job search time and secure positions that align better with their career aspirations. We recommend you RESOLVE to add this inexpensive benefit to the individual’s severance package. You are assisting the employees when they need it most.

  1. In 2025, Resolve to Protect Your Culture When You Transition Someone Out of the Organization

A Harris Poll revealed that 82% felt employers who provide Outplacement Services care more about their employees than those who do not. They also feel that the company cares about its people beyond their employment with the organization – and actively takes steps to demonstrate and preserve its organizational culture. We recommend you RESOLVE to demonstrate to your existing employees that your people are important to you – and you’ve made an investment to prove it when it is necessary to transition someone out of the organization!
