Richard ButzFounder
Dick Butz has been an entrepreneur and Human Resource Management Consultant for over 50 years. Dick first purchased a Snelling and Snelling employment agency after a successful tenure at Pennsylvania Bell Telephone Company. And subsequently, he founded Career Consultants in the early 1970s.
Search and Staffing: Dick is considered an innovator in executive search; has custom-designed pragmatic talent acquisition and talent retention systems for clients throughout the United States; and has spoken at conferences throughout the United States and in a number of foreign counties related to Effective Selection and Retention Methods.
Outplacement: In 1981, with encouragement from his marketing professor at the Harvard Business School, Dick opened the first outplacement firm in Indiana, 5 years before its first competitor entered the market place. Dick’s idea was to provide these services to every person being affected by layoffs, not just executives. Harvard Business School recognized his success as an example of how entrepreneurs, who listen and respond to the needs of its clients, can create new and innovative services that prosper, even in a bad economy.
Leadership Development and Coaching: Dick is co-founder of The Center For Leadership Excellence and Coaching Women To Leadership Excellence. He has been recognized as pioneer and a passionate advocate for gender balance and gender equity in business for over four decades.
Dick is the author of a number of published articles in addition to a recently published book entitled: Outperforming the Competition…What’s Keeping Leaders Awake at Night.
Dick is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Smaller Corporate Management Program.
