In this module, we coach leaders on how to demonstrate proactive leadership, leadership that cares for its workforce. Additionally, we teach leaders how to “keep an eye out” for potential issues, pinpoint problems, and address inappropriate behaviors or comments before they become problematic.  Leaders are also given tools to address formal complaints and conduct meetings with the “accuser” and the “accused”.  Additionally, it gives supervisors tools to address their own behavior, judgements, and assumptions and work to build a culture of inclusion and respect within their team.

Learning Outcomes: As a result of this course, participants will…

  • Understand and apply proactive leadership practices in creating a respectful and inclusive workplace.
  • Understand and apply how to identify potential issues around sexual harassment/inappropriate behavior, gender bias, and discrimination.  
  • Understand and apply how to address informal issues and formal complaints with employees.
  • Understand how to conduct meetings to address issues of sexual harassment/inappropriate behavior, gender bias, and discrimination with the accused and accuser.
  • Reflect upon and understand personal judgements and assumptions and how they impact their ability to create a respectful and inclusive culture.
