Positioning Yourself For A Promotion Or More Responsibility

Positioning Yourself For A Promotion Or More Responsibility

People aren’t “tapped” for leadership positions or promotions simply by showing up to work and not making “waves”.  Women, however, aren’t highly-skilled at self promotion – or even indicating to a boss that they’re interested in assuming greater responsibility.   In this program, you’ll learn how to plan for and have conversations with your boss, mentors, or other advocates about your career goals, how to research potential opportunities, and how to best present yourself for a new role.

Learning Outcomes: As a result of this course, participants will…

  •  Reflect on and identify one’s own career goals, achievements, and personal leadership skills.
  • Identify key persons and prepare for conversations to  advocate for career advancement or additional responsibility and how those individuals can help you.
  • Understand, apply, and prepare for meetings with a boss/supervisor, mentor, and/or an in-house interview opportunity.

The course in total, takes roughly 4 hours to complete.  Participants are given access to all course materials and reflection assignments through our online learning management system.  There are no educational prerequisites to take the course and participants have access to materials for 6 months from first log-in date.
